Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has pushed back against recent comments from US President Donald Trump, emphasizing that derogatory language directed at the Iranian people cannot diminish their standing, and that Tehran intends to respond through deeds rather than rhetoric.

In remarks posted on X, Araqchi contended that using disparaging terms when addressing Iranians "does not reduce their greatness," pointing to their historical legacy of advancement in civilization, culture, and ethical principles.

"We do not meet vulgarity with vulgarity, but rather with action, fearlessly and with tremendous courage," Araqchi stated, signaling that his nation will not participate in a war of words and remains committed to safeguarding its national interests.

Araqchi's comments represent a direct rebuttal to remarks Trump made during the NATO summit, where the US President announced his unwillingness to continue engagement with Iran or pursue diplomatic talks. Trump asserted that any existing ceasefire arrangement with Tehran "is finished" for him, and declared that permitting Iran to develop nuclear weapons remains unacceptable to the United States.
