British Maritime Authority Warns of Severe Security Threats in Strait of Hormuz

A British maritime authority has flagged heightened security concerns in the Strait of Hormuz, characterizing the threat level as extremely serious.

The assessment comes as regional tensions remain elevated, with multiple security incidents reported across the Middle East. Saudi Arabia's Foreign Ministry has condemned attacks on commercial vessels in the region, warning that such actions jeopardize maritime navigation and stability. The kingdom also expressed concern over what it described as ongoing aggression targeting Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, and Jordan.

Iran's Mehr news agency reported that communications infrastructure in Kerman province was struck in what it characterized as an American military operation.

In Israel, the Hebrew-language Kan channel reported that following an urgent telephone consultation, the government extended emergency status on the home front through July 28, with security officials noting a significant possibility of attacks on civilian areas.

Meanwhile, Lebanese political figure Raï urged the nation to pursue the path of statehood rather than fragmentation, emphasizing dialogue over weaponry and cautioning that Lebanon faces a choice between implementing a structural framework or returning to cycles of conflict.
