Finance Ministry Issues New Tax Fine Reduction Framework

The Ministry of Finance has introduced a decision establishing a tiered system for reducing tax penalties, offering taxpayers substantial relief depending on their circumstances.

Under the new framework, qualifying taxpayers can receive fine reductions ranging from 50 to 90 percent. Those meeting specific criteria outlined in the decision are eligible for the maximum 90 percent reduction. Other taxpayers may benefit from either 75 percent or 50 percent reductions, with the applicable rate determined by the nature of their tax obligations and their adherence to established timelines.

The ministry emphasized that these reductions are contingent upon taxpayers fulfilling their payment obligations by the designated deadline. The benefit period extends through December 31, 2026, and applies exclusively to cases that satisfy all legal and regulatory requirements specified in the decision.
