President Saad Hariri has conveyed his sympathies to Qatar's leadership following the passing of Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the former Emir of the State of Qatar.

In a formal cable addressed to current Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Hariri expressed that he learned of the death "with great sorrow and sadness." The Lebanese president highlighted the historical significance of the deceased's relationship with Lebanon, noting that the nation holds dear his "white hands"—a phrase denoting benevolent actions and support—extended toward the country and its citizens.

Hariri directed his condolences to the Emir, the ruling family, and the Qatari nation as a whole, offering his deepest sympathies. He invoked divine blessings for the departed, requesting God's mercy upon him and his place in paradise, while praying for protection from harm for the bereaved.

The president additionally offered prayers for the longevity and continued guidance of the current Emir, expressing hope that God would direct his leadership toward the prosperity and honor of Qatar.

In parallel correspondence, Hariri also sent condolences to Qatar's Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman bin Jassim Al Thani, mourning the loss of the former Emir.
