Economy Minister Calls for Comprehensive Development Strategy for Sidon

Lebanon's Minister of Economy visited Sidon's modern port this week to evaluate infrastructure challenges and growth potential, meeting with port officials and touring operational facilities.
During the visit, the minister outlined an ambitious vision for the city's future. "Sidon has demonstrated remarkable resilience in recent times, providing shelter to displaced persons from across the country and standing as a pillar of stability in the south," he stated. "Yet the city requires a strategic economic framework. The port represents a critical asset with substantial potential within a broader economic ecosystem, and we are dedicated to formulating a comprehensive development plan where the port serves as a cornerstone."
The minister emphasized the government's commitment to southern Lebanon, pledging continued backing for essential services and infrastructure. He underscored that reconstruction efforts and the restoration of displaced communities must be anchored in a holistic economic strategy, positioning Sidon as the entry point for southern development at this pivotal moment.
